We had a super July 4th weekend as usual. It seemed like everyone and their mom and their cousins were in town for the big Hmong July 4th festivities. It feels like the weekend has been getting longer and longer as well. We had guests as early as Wednesday this year and our last guest left town on the following Tuesday. We kicked off the weekend on Friday by going to a party thrown together by an old group of friends. It was nice to see that a great group of friends can still keep in touch after so many years far apart. It was fun seeing them celebrating their life long friendship.
Marchell bought a huge swimming pool that weekend as well. I set it up on Friday morning and started filling it up. It took an entire day for the pool to fill and the water was cold too. It wouldn't have been as cold but, the weather wasn't cooperating either. Saturday, the girls swam in the pool until their lips turned blue and the weather was still not prime for swimming. Sunday, the weather was a little better. The water was still cold and so I bought a slip in slide for them to play with in the mean time. We had some fun in the sun for the day and swam in the pool and slid down the slip n slide. All in all, it was a fun weekend. After thinking about it, the weekend just flew by. The anticipation was so great that when it just felt like it finally started, it came to an end all too soon. I hope to see everyone again next year and hopefully I'll be ready to play volleyball or soccer. So until next year...
