We grabbed some lunch the other day at Salut on Grand Avenue. I've never been there before but, I've been wanting to try it out since I drive by it ever so often. The weather has been nice as of late so, we ate outside on the patio. I got there just in the nick of time before the lunch rush started. The bread they bring out for you is what I have been looking for in a good French bread. The crust was nice and crisp but, chewy at the same time. The middle was soft and fluffy. It was server with a salty butter that just made it just so much better. I decided on Le Cheeseburger Royale with fries. The burger was grand. The bun made the burger really stand out. It was on the same level as the complimentary bread. Soft and chewy and it never got soggy sitting underneath that pile of hamburger meat. The fries were some of the best fries I've had in a while. Almost even better than the Truffle fries from the American Burger Bar but, I'd have to do a side by side taste test first. The food was great and it was nice sitting outside to eat.
