This was one of the best burger's I've had in a long time. We checked out the new American Burger Bar in downtown St. Paul on Sunday night and it was awesome. The upscale restaurant reminded me of a nice steakhouse, dimmed lighting, plush booths, and wood paneling everywhere. The serve a wide assortment of gourmet burgers with your choices of, Ahi Tuna, Kobe Beef, Bison, Black Angus Beef, and Lamb. They also have salads, sandwiches, and pasta. The Kobe beef stuffed ravioli sounded interesting. They have an OK beer selection but, nothing worth mentioning. We were there for the burgers though. I treated myself to "The Experience", a Kobe beef burger with foie gras, black truffles, Parmesan cheese and braised short ribs topped with fried onions and red wine sauce. All burgers come with skinny fries but, I upgraded mine to the truffle fries. It doesn't sound appealing but, they are so delicious. They are fries topped with fresh Parmesan cheese and truffle salt I believe. Julie had a Kobe beef burger with Jalapeno bacon, Jalapeno cheese, and sauteed onions. The burgers were a little messy but, they were excellent. So excellent in fact, we had to have another round of burgers again for lunch the next day. The lunch menu is a tad bit smaller than the dinner menu but, we were not disappointed. They will be lowering their lunches prices in the near future so, check them out if you get the chance.
