In this new age of electronic communication, there are so many ways to keep in touch or not to keep in touch. First, there were cell phones and then came text messaging. Then the social networking websites just blew up. Back in high school we were on Asian Avenue, chatting online, and emailing but, since the fast integration of broadband connections, MySpace, Facebook, and now Twitter are new ways to keep in touch or just to tell people what you are doing or where you are going.
It's to the point where you have trouble keeping up with yourself these days. I have to keep my contacts updated in my phone. I have to keep everyone's emails together. Should I text this person or just call them? Did I check my Facebook within the past few days? Should I twitter that same update as I did on my Facebook? So many choices these days. So many ways to keep in touch or just ignore people all together.
I tried MySpace but, that was just so much work. You want to do this and do that but, there just isn't much time to figure out how to do it and when you finally figure out how to do it, you don't really want to do that anymore. I haven't updated my page for a long time. I don't know how people keep up. I have a Facebook page and I'll update that but, most of my updates are through my phone. I haven't uploaded too many pictures or anything much. Just the occasional update on what I'm doing or wishing someone a Happy Birthday.
I opened up a Twitter account a few weeks ago just because, everyone else was doing it. You can follow celebrities on their Twitter and it's more personal than MySpace, where they just have their PR person doing the work. The real person does their updates and I think that's where the niche is. It's been in the news a ton lately as well. Charlie Villanueva got into some trouble when he sent a Twit during half time of his basketball game. Jennifer Aniston and her loser boyfriend, what's his face, broke up because, he told her that he was too busy for her but, she found out that he was just on Twitter the entire weekend. President Obama also has a Twitter but, I don't know if he's doing the actual updates on there because, there are a ton of updates. I don't have any followers and I am only following Shaq. Shaq is a hilarious Twitter. He actually had someone from Twitter teach him how to do it. He Twitters a lot and he post some funny pictures too. I've been trying to Twitter some pictures too but, I haven't quite figured out what yet.
So I started blogging too. I thought it would be fun and something new to do. I guess it's not really to update people on what I'm doing but, just to write and put my thoughts out there. Just random things and thoughts. I don't know who's really reading all of this stuff but, oh well. I'm still trying to decide if I should focus on some things or not. I don't think I will. I'm trying to take more pictures but, just don't know how I'm going to do it. Am I going to carry a camera everywhere I go? I do have an OK camera on my phone but, everything has to be perfectly still and the lighting has to be good. I'll probably post some funny videos I watch on YouTube. Hopefully people will let me know what they think about my blog. Any feedback positive or negative would be good. I guess it doesn't really matter either. My wife thinks it's pretty cool. I just struggle sometimes to pick what I want to write about because, I don't think that I am a true expert at anything. I just know a little bit about many things I guess. Or maybe I don't know anything about anything at all.
