Second Place is the First LOSER...

Last weekend, I played in my big disc golf tournament. I think I played OK but, not well. I had an OK start, a good second round, and a bad last round. I didn't play to the best of my abilities at all. I hate losing. I took third earlier this year after I was leading after the first round and then I go and take second place. The first round was pretty rough, I didn't take any big numbers but, I didn't card very many birdies either. After the first round, I was in 4th place and seven strokes behind the leader. I played with the leader and eventual winner in the first round and he was nothing special. I hate losing to people that don't really do anything special. I made the top card and in the second round, I cut the lead down to two strokes and moved up to second place. I shot a 960 rated round but, I still missed quite a few birdie putts. I told myself that I would put the pressure on in the third round and try to win but, I couldn't put anything together on the course that I have probably played the most this year. I started off by carding bogies row on the first 4 holes and that was it. I was able cut the lead back down to three strokes but, that's as far as I got. I ended up losing by 9 strokes and taking second place. I am still really bummed out and still reeling from the loss. I keep thinking about what else I could have done to win. The door was left wide open for me to take the win. I will be moving up divisions next year and I will probably stay in that division forever unless, I start playing some pro level disc golf. One more chance for me to finally get a win. Hopefully I can crush the field this year at the State Championships...
